The 2009 NBA All-Star Game was played on February 15, 2009 at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona, home of the Phoenix Suns. The game was the 58th annual NBA All-Star Game. This was the third time Phoenix has hosted the basketball showcase, after previously hosting the 1975 and 1995 games. Commissioner David Stern made the announcement at a news conference on November 8, 2007 at US Airways Center. Toronto, New York, Oakland and Milwaukee reportedly were contenders for the 2009 contest.
