The Harimau Muda ended Malaysia 20-year gold drought in the SEA Games men’s football competition
On the nite of 17/12/09 the harimau muda ended Malaysia 20-year gold drought in the SEA Games men’s football competition.
The national team’s last success at the biennial event came when they beat Singapore 1-0 in the KL SEA Games in 1989.
It all thank to an own goal by Vietnam player (Mai Xuan Hop) in the 85th minute.
National coach K. Rajagopal was full of praise for his warriors, who created history.
“We achieved an historic feat in Vientiane,” said a jubilant Rajagopal.
Will this be a new beginning for Malaysia football?
or
This are just one of the lucky day for the Malaysia team?
Winning the SEA Games gold medal alone is not enough!
We need to ensure that the national football team remain competitive and able to challenge for more honours.
PM say hoped the victory was not just a seasonal success or for a short-term only but represented a continuous path towards bigger achievements.
“I want to see improvements in the team in the context of our position compared with those of other countries,” say Najib
Congratulation to the Malaysia football team!!!!

1992: Helps United lift League Cup and that season is voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
1993: Becomes first player to be named PFA Young Player of the Year twice.
Member of United side which ends the club's 26-year wait to win the league title.

1996: Helps the Reds win the double for a second time.
1997: Wins a third league title in four years and in October scores a memorable goal in their 3-2 Champions League victory over Juventus at Old Trafford.
1998: Injures his hamstring in February and is out for six weeks as United finish the season empty-handed.

July - Signs a new five-year contact worth around £50,000 a week. Sent off for the first time in his career for two bookable offences as Wales crash 3-2 in Norway.

August 23: Nets 100th goal for United in all competitions with the team's second goal in league game at Chelsea.
2003: May - United are crowned champions again.
September - Giggs, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his involvement in confrontations with Arsenal players after a goalless draw at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Greatest Comback!!!!!
Last Saturday MU VS Spurs was the greatest match I ever watch...
A controversial penalty and sensational second-half fightback helped MU beat Spurs to retain the top spot in the Premier League.
Spurs was hunting their first win at Old Trafford for 20 years... With Jemain Defoe back in London following the death of his half-brother, Bent lead the front line. Vedran Corluka curled in a cross from the right and Bent got better of Rio Ferdinand to crash home his 17th goal of the season from six yards.
Spurs went 2-0 up moments later when Modric converted Aaron Lennon's cross at the far post after the winger had jinked his way past Patrice Evra on the right.
SAF replaced the lackluster Nani with the far more industrious Carlos Tevez. Two minutes later, Carrick burst into the bos and nipped the ball around Gomes, who was rules to have tripped Carrick as he dived at the ball. The Spurs player and Harry Redknapp was not happy with Haward Webb's decision.
But they were powerless to stop CR7 from reducing the deficit from the penalty spot. Then come the equalizer from Rooney. Rooney blasted home from outside the box after Rafael and Berbatov had combined to set up Rooney.
Minutes later, MU were in front. Rooney crossing from the left for CR7 to head home their third goal.
The misery continue for Spurs as Rooney make it 4-2 when his volley from CR7's delicate cross crept over the line despite the scrambled efforts of Woodgate.
All the four goals were score in just 14 minutes. The fifth goal arrived coutesy of the boot of former Spurs player Berbatov.
His initial header was saves by Gomes, but the Bulgarian stabbed home the loose ball to cap a remarkable afternoon.
Player of the match: Wayne Rooney.

Who is Federico "Kiko" MacHeda?

2Goal from 2 Premier League start. Is he the Next Super Sub? Who is he?
Federico "Kiko" Macheda (born 22 August 1991) is an Italian footballer who plays as a striker for English club Manchester United. He joined Manchester United from Lazio in September 2007.
Born in Rome, Macheda began his football career with local side Lazio. However, due to Italian football regulations preventing under-18s from signing professional contracts, he was not permanently tied to the club, and shortly after his 16th birthday, he was signed by Manchester United of England, where regulations permit the signing of players aged 16 and up.[1] Following his family's relocation to England, he officially joined the club as a trainee on 16 September 2007, and began a three-year scholarship in the club's Academy.
He went straight into the Manchester United Under-18 side, and scored the only goal of the game on his debut, a 1–0 away win over Barnsley on 15 September 2007.In his first season with the club, he finished as the Under-18s' top scorer with a total of 12 goals in 21 appearances for the under-18s, and even made his debut for the reserves on 26 February 2008, when he came on as a 68th-minute substitute for Gerard Piqué in a 2–0 away defeat to Liverpool. On 12 May 2008, Macheda earned a Manchester Senior Cup winners' medal when he was named as an unused substitute for the 2–0 win over Bolton Wanderers in the final.
Macheda signed his first professional contract with Manchester United on his 17th birthday in August 2008.In the 2008–09 season, he continued in the under-18 side, while also making a few appearances for the reserves. Towards the end of the season, Macheda enjoyed an extended run in the reserve team, scoring eight goals in eight games, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United on 30 March 2009,and he was rewarded by being selected for the first team for the match against Aston Villa on 5 April 2009.[8] With United 2–1 down heading into the final third of the game, manager Alex Ferguson substituted Macheda for Nani just after the hour mark. After Cristiano Ronaldo equalised for United in the 80th minute, Macheda won the match with a turn to evade his marker followed by a curling effort from just inside the area in the third minute of injury time.
Macheda was named on the bench for United's next two games – first against Porto in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final,and then against Sunderland in the league – making his second appearance for the club in the latter game. Just 46 seconds after taking to the field in place of Dimitar Berbatov, Macheda had the ball in the back of the net for the second time in his United career, deflecting a Michael Carrick shot past Craig Gordon in the Sunderland goal.

Carling Cup showdown
Carling Cup Final at Wembley Stadium tomorrow. Kick-off time 1500GMT (11pm Malaysia time). Live coverage on Astro SuperSport (811).
Red-hot favourites Manchester will face holders Tottenham is what promises to be an intriguing Carling cup final.
What are my cup final predictions?
For me, with players like Vidic, Ferdinand and Evans you have 3 outstanding centre-halves. And United also have a world-class keeper Van Der Sar. With this combination has helped United becomes a very difficult team to score against this season.
United feature in Carling Cup final for 6 time and they won 2 of the final on 1992 and 2006. They become runner-up on 1983, 1991, 1994 and 2003.
It'll be interesting to see how Sir Alex goes about picking the team to play Spurs. With young midfielder Darron Gibson and striker Danny Welbeck as starting XI. Sir Alex want to win the cup so there will be experience on the pitch and big hitter on the bench.
Holders Spurs have got worries elsewhere they're still in the precarious position in the league. Survival is the be all and end all for them so if they had the choice of winning on Sunday or staying in the Premier League, I know which one their fan would choose.
Harry Redknapp has a tough task ahead of him. He got a limited squad he can pick from because a few of the big names are cup-tied. Among them are Robbie Keane, Wilson Palacios, Pascal Chimbonda and Carlo Cudicini. Fraizer Campbell cannot play because he's on load from United. That just leave Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko to try break down the United defence. Harry may chooses to play 4-5-1 and leave Bent on the bench with Pavlyuchenko as main target man.
United will be outstanding favourites. They've got a great squad and have an superb season so far.
